Afro Funk & Bump - 3/26

March 26th

Some tunes for your headz and heartz

Tonight:

OK... Alright... Last Thursday at AFRO FUNKE' was a prime example of
HOW IT FEELS TO BE ROCKED by some great DJ sets!

GLENN RED did yet another beautiful set, and J.SOLE jumped in
to build on that energy, before Raw Fusion's DJ ASPARAGUS
came all the way from Sweden to scorch up the sweaty dance floor.

Much love to all who came early and got the giveaways of the K'NAAN
record "Troubadour." Remember: 9-10pm for these releases parties.

This week we have a VERY special musical journey in store for you
PLUS an African fashion show
that is NOT TO BE MISSED...trust us.

MAMI AFRIKA
FASHION SHOW

The words burst of color, fabulous, traditional meets contemporary, fun, real, festive, soulful
and one of a kind all come to mind when the designs of Wawi Amasha are seen. Originally from Kenya,
Wawi is an up and coming designer/artist creater of MamiAfrika designs which is her beautiful translation
of meshing the ever inspiring African culture she grow up in (including vibrant fabrics from all over Africa)
with a funky Western flare. Growing up in a small village in Embu surrounded by raw unadaltarated nature
has definitely influenced Wawi's designs and anyone that sees her work gets the feeling that everything she
does is from the heart. MamiAfrika is a brand that any woman no matter her size, shape or race will feel
absolutely stunning in.
Her fashion shows are unlike most, calling upon the girls to dance their hearts out while drummers
and other instruments accompany them in a somewhat spiritual gathering. A MamiAfrika show is truly
a celebration of life and all the joys that come with it. This girl's got mad style, you just have to take a
glance at her to agree.
